The second transport with medical equipment from South Korea arrived in Romania


The Ministry of National Defense today announced on its Facebook page that the second transport of medical equipment imported by the Romanian State from South Korea arrived at Otopeni Airport. The quantity of sanitary materials transported is 45 tons.

The transport was provided with a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, within the quota of flight hours allocated to Romania, as a member of the Multinational Strategic Transport Unit. The sanitary equipment, consisting of another 100,000 protective suits, were purchased by the Romanian state through the National Centralized Procurement Office and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, to be used in the campaign to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The suits will be distributed, according to needs, to the medical personnel from the Ministry of Health and to the operational crews of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with means of transport equipped with the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and with the support of the county inspectorates for emergency situations. The coordination of the two flights was carried out, from Romania, by the National Military Command Center of the MApN.
