The organizers of the Bergamo challenger tournament with total prize money of 46,600 euros, announced that the final of the competition will no longer take place, due to the coronavirus.
In the last act, the Ukrainian Illya Marchenko and the French Enzo Coucaud should have met. The two will receive 3,650 euros and 48 points, the prize for the finalist. If the match had been played, the winner would have been rewarded with 6,190 euros and 80 points.
The final was canceled after the authorities decided to cancel all sporting events in Lombardy and Veneto. “The organizers tried everything, even the option to play the game with the gates closed, but the request for a derogation was not accepted,” the organizers said in a statement.
