Another person diagnosed with coronavirus died, being an 81-year-old man from Bucharest, whose doctors did not convey that he had other comorbidities. The number of deaths reached 25. The coronavirus disease report was on Friday at 13:00 hours of 1292 cases, after 263 people were diagnosed in the last 24 hours, being the highest number since the outbreak in Romania. A total of 32 patients are in the ATI, the condition of 24 of them being serious.
The Strategic Communication Group announced on Friday that the 25th death caused by coronavirus was recorded, is an 81-year-old man from Bucharest, hospitalized by the Emergency Receiving Unit of St. John’s Hospital on 26 March.
Later, he was transferred to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Matei Bals”, where the death was registered in the ATI section on March 27.
“We have not been provided with data on comorbidities,” the Strategic Communication Group said.
“To date, March 27, in the territory of Romania, 1,292 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the 1,292 people confirmed positively, 115 were declared cured and discharged (53 in Timisoara, 41 in Bucharest, 7 in Iasi, 6 in Craiova, 6 in Constanta and 2 in Cluj). To date, 24 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection and pre-existing chronic diseases, hospitalized in hospitals in Craiova, Bucharest, Iasi, Suceava, Arad, Bacau, Cluj, Timisoara, and Neamt, have died. Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, there have been another 263 new cases of illness. The newly confirmed patients are between 0 and 94 years old, “the Strategic Communication Group announces.
At ATI, at this moment, 32 patients are admitted, of which 24 are in serious condition. The health of the other patients is good, stationary.
On the territory of Romania, there are 7,219 persons in institutionalized quarantine. Another 124,320 people are in isolation at home and are under medical supervision.
To date, at the national level, 17,453 tests have been processed, of which 1,006 in private medical units.
So far, through the authorized structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 199 criminal files have been drawn up, under the aspect of committing the crime of denial of disease control, a fact stipulated and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code. At the same time, the Police and the Gendarmerie applied 2,866 penalties for contravening the isolation/quarantine measures.
Since the entry into force of the Military Ordinance no. 3, the police found 13,611 persons who did not comply with the measure regarding the restriction of the movement. They were applied for contraventional sanctions, amounting to 17,256,424 lei.
Also, on the occasion of the formalities of entering the country, the Border Police prepared 4 criminal files, in the aspect of committing the crime of falsification in declarations, a fact stipulated and punished by art. 326 Penal Code.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, according to information obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, so far, 59 Romanian citizens have been confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 44 in Italy, 4 in Spain, 2 in Namibia, 2 in Indonesia, 3 in France and one in Tunisia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Luxembourg. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic, up to this time, 11 Romanian citizens abroad, 8 in Italy, 2 in France and one in the United Kingdom, have died.
