Rihanna and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey made a $ 4.2 million donation to help victims of domestic violence during COVID-19’s health crisis.

Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) of Rihanna and Dorsey have joined forces to support victims of domestic violence in Los Angeles and have each donated $ 2.1 million.

The $ 4.2 million joint grant from the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles will be used for resources to support victims and adult victims, including through shelter, food, and counseling.

According to the Los Angeles Housing Authority, about 90 people could not be accommodated in the already full shelters since the home isolation order came into effect last month. The grant should cover the weekly expenses for 90 victims of domestic violence for four weeks.

“Victims of domestic violence exist worldwide, so this is just the beginning,” Rihanna and Dorsey quoted Rolling Stone as saying.

Last week, the singer-songwriter’s foundation and Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation donated $ 2 million to help unregistered workers, inmates, homeless people and the elderly, as well as the children of healthcare workers in the front line of COVID-19 in Los Angeles and New York.

In March, through its foundation, Rihanna donated a supply of protective gear to New York State. CLF has also donated $ 5 million to several organizations around the world that are trying to help healthcare workers and marginalized communities.
