Leonardo DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs, and Oprah Winfrey on Thursday made millions of dollars in donations to America’s Food Fund, which will support those most affected by COVID-19’s health crisis.

DiCaprio and Powell Jobs, who run the Earth Alliance, donated $ 5 million together, and Apple, for the same amount, through the GoFundMe platform. Oprah Winfrey donated $ 1 million, as did the Ford Foundation.

America’s Food Fund will work with charities World Central Kitchen and Feeding America.

“In the context of this crisis, organizations like World Central Kitchen and Feeding America have inspired us all with their unconditional commitment to feeding the most vulnerable distressed people. I thank them for the tireless bush in the front line, it deserves all our support, ”said DiCaprio, quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

America’s Food Fund has announced on the fundraising website that it wants to ensure that everyone will have safe access to food during the pandemic.

With support coming Thursday morning, America’s Food Fund raised $ 12.29 million from its proposed total of $ 15 million.
