The application, which will be available in the app store under the name “COVID-19”, will ask users questions about symptoms, where they are and the risk factors, and then provide them with current information from the Center for Disease Control, have declared officials of the White House.
The application will answer the most frequently asked questions about coronavirus disease, with official information. The same information will be available at www.apple.com/covid19, which can be accessed by users with Windows PCs, Android phones and other non-Apple devices.
Apple has stated that it will not collect user responses to application and site questions and that answers will not be sent to either Apple or any government institution.
Apple’s headquarters in northern California has been under quarantine for over a week. Apple CEO Tim Cook said earlier this week that the iPhone maker donated 10 million masks to healthcare entities after using the company’s supplier network to identify and purchase masks.
